Letting life happen | In Pursuit of the Present (Ep.2)
Heading out to Oceanside, CA, as I explore the concept of living in the present and take a step towards a more mindful and peaceful existence. In this video, I share my personal experiences and reflections on breaking free from the clutter of thoughts that often cloud our minds. Through the practice of journaling, I’ve discovered a path to mental clarity and liberty, not from external constraints, but from my own internal struggles. Walking around the harbor village and the beach, I found a lightness and joy in simply being. This trip symbolizes my ongoing effort to embrace the present moment, let go of the need for control, and trust in the natural flow of life.

A quick update about driving our two-wheel Tesla Model 3 through the potholes of the Lost Coast drive: (I just rewatched the video, and want to make sure you guys don't take any advise from me when it comes to cars. :) At 7:59 I said that in spite of the constant potholes, it was "just fine" to drive with our car... Well, we recently had to replace one of the shock absorbers of the car. To be fair, we did quite a few more road trips after this one, and I did drive over a curb at some point recently... but I feel that this Lost Coast drive may have contributed to the damage.

I so understand your panic on the ladder. I never knew I had any trouble with ladders until I was in my early 40s and climb a ladder at.Puye Cliff Dwellings in New Mexico. I absolutely freaked out on the ladder but finally got to the top. Fortunately, there was a way to drive to the top and my husband went to get the car so I did not have to come back down the ladder. Ever since then I have tried ladders, a different cliff dwellings, and I cannot do it, it seems like going up is OK but I can’t come down. Absolutely crazy.

It is absolutely unconscionable that you would visit Shiprock and talk about all this higher consciousness and not mention the fact that one of the most toxic places on the planet is right there in Shiprock. How can you not talk about the legacy of uranium mining that is poisoning the Navajo nation? Your ignorance is embarrassing. You need to get educated sister. These videos are doing damage because they encourage people to visit but not care about the place their visiting. Shame on you.

How old is this video? I ask because I wonder how long the town has been free of all the confederate flags and psycho racists? I grew up visiting there in the 1970-1980’s and it was a normal tourist destination but I went in 2004 and there were more confederate flags than donkeys. Then by 2016 the entire town jumped the shark. Maybe the heat fried the local brains but there were some down right psycho people working there. I will never step foot near that hellhole again. But in this video all the political and Confederate flags are gone. When did that happen? Are we supposed to believe that the crazy lady stalking and harassing people and her racist comrades left? Doubtful. More likely they just went underground with the racism and hate. I hope the crazy lady got the help she needs.

The elected officials not governing our city is creating chaos for the people visiting and people living in Santa Fe. The loud cars that take over our city day and night and the speeding cars and running red lights is an embarrassment to this city and the tax payers. There is no police presence to control any of this. In short, Santa Fe is going in the wrong direction. The officials are more interested with making the rail and art district another Disney park and not fixing problems at hand. I moved to Santa Fe over 14 years ago and love it, but the last few years of increased noise from the modified car mufflers have taken over the sound scape and is causing noise pollution that's unacceptable for most cities. My family and friends will no longer visit due to lack of sleep either in hotel rooms or at my place due to the noise. There are laws in place to curb the illegal cars but it's not being enforced. This is unfair and I don't know to approach it. I have contacted the governor's office and never received a reply, same with the mayor. Do our elected officials ever step outside to see what's going on in this city? This has been going on for a long time and there's been more than ample time to fix this.

Love that you showcased this spot Zuma! I was having a hard time mentally early last year and Ryan took me here. Climbing rocks, walking through tide pools, needing to be fully present to every step I took and the oncoming waves. Got me out of my head and grounded. Such a special place to surrender to the grandness of earth, wake us up a little, and show how small we (and our problems) are compared to the magnificent ocean and world around us.

I used to drive to LA for work a lot, and often found myself stuck in traffic, surrounded by a sea of cars. It struck me how so many people in their vehicle looked lost in their thoughts and personal struggles. The internal battles we face are universal, yet seldom openly discussed. And sadly, dealing with our individual issues is a such a complex and confusing journey, takes lifetime to unravel.

By defeating darkness the Shadow Boxer engages the stars in a universal battle of natural selection for celestial light decreasing load and growing time. Inserted into Plato's Allegory of the Cave the Shadow Boxer remains true, above or below, liberating mankind from the ignorance of darkness past. I'm happy you got to see and walk near the peak of Shiprock rock. Your right by my grandpa land you may have seen some houses in front of it that's where my mom father is from. We had so much great memories we made there with families. Story behind it, The Navajo name for the peak, Tsé Bitʼaʼí, "rock with wings" or "winged rock", refers to the legend of the great bird that brought the Navajo from the north to their present lands. The peak was once the nesting place of a giant bird of prey. The last of 16 monsters that the Hero Twin gods had to slay before human beings could come to live in the present world. They say they don't allow anyone to climb the rocks for scared reasons. When we go there we have to say a prayer and blessing to before we go near it. It's just the way my grandparents taught us. Happy you got the chance to visit Shiprock, Like you explain life is to short we got to learn to live life and be blessed for each day. I to lost my parents & son at different times. It's hard I need to do what your doing when the time is right. You know there is never a right time I just need to do it like you. I deal with sadness here and there but continue to keep moving forward for my parents and my son. I'm happy for you gonna watch the rest of your videos. _Ya'at'eeh_ Love to you from Fort Wingate NM, a small community called Iyanbito. I can see I-40 from my front porch. The word means Buffalo's Water. My family use to get fresh spring water called "Sweet Water." I remember at age nine getting some with my uncle and the well was deep I remember drinking the fresh water. Now the well is closed because people would vandalize it. Many Nation Leaders want to preserve the Coconino Aquifer beneath our home. Many Uranium Pumps are near by so many people are wanting a demand. The Colorado River is indeed important to many States and the other Rivers. My people have many stories of Buffalo herds drinking the spring pond before colonial times. I never knew Buffalo were here and all of Northern Arizona. _Ahéhee_ Thank you for visiting my peoples land. I want to visit Canyon de Chelly National Monument:) or Antelope Canyon, Arizona

I am right there with you Zuma….Part of getting older has definitely caused me to truly recognize and start dealing with my struggles little by little, but for me more importantly was to find not so much happiness but instead being okay with calm and content. We have been guided by our parents to work hard to succeed but we are not taught that we need to work equally hard on recognizing when we are emotionally struggling with all that life throws at us. Only now that I have stepped away from the financially rewarding but stressful career, can I reflect that being healthy physically and mentally is now my daily priority. We are lucky to have excellent life partners where we are able to mostly tolerate each other’s imperfections, however, we still need to pause….take a pulse and nourish our souls. That nourishment comes in all different forms and the key is finding them 😊

It is crazy to think that I got introduced to work-life-balance concept only when social media came out. Before that, I was wearing my 24-7 work ethics like a badge of honor, and was powering through my breakdowns and crashes as much as I could... until I couldn't. Achieving calm and content or 'happiness' is a task on another level, though. But I am hopeful that we'll get there one day, and get to experience what life really is like and feels like. ... Hopefully, we like it hahaha 🫶

My son and I were there in the summer of 22 with the boyscouts. We camped the whole 12 days in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. It was incredible. I want to go back so bad. It is so beautiful
